Email from My Dad Regarding the New Wireless Router

Dear @Home-Net customer:

We value your business and understand how important it is to maintain a constant connection to the Internet from your 8 PCs, 2 iPods, your iPhone, Atrix and Nooks.

That is why we’re investing in our infrastructure by replacing our aging wireless router with a new state of the art Asus wireless router. The old D-Link was rad for 20 concurrent connections and we’ve recently experienced problems we believe are load related. The new Asus router is rated at 300,000 connections which more than doubles our current capacity!

Please note that to use the new, faster, prettier router, you will need to install the “toll booth” software and connect it to a credit card or your bank account. The new hourly rates are a teensy weensy 0.10/hour per device and will be automatically sucked from your CC or bank.

As usual, to install and configure this new HW requires a Small 3 hour outage from 7-10 PM. The outage is currently scheduled for tonight so we wanted to provide this advance notice so you can properly prepare. A customer survey identified Wednesday nights as the time least impactful to the majority of the moms we serve.

As always we reserve the right to reschedule should work intrude on our schedule.
