I fall in love with myself — just a little bit — when I quote Lord of the Rings.

I received a really awful email on Friday, the kind of email that allows you to understand phrases like “makes my blood boil.” To calm down, I started up The Fellowship of the Ring, and I happened to be testing out my new point-and-shoot just before this scene came on. That face is a reasonably accurate representation of what I’ve been feeling all weekend.
Crossing My Fingers and Praying This Isn’t an Elaborate Hoax
A few weeks ago, Warner Bros. contacted me about the @LOTR account on Twitter. My first thought was, “Oh no! They’ve busted me for very slow copyright infringement!” But really they just wanted to touch base with some hardcore Lord of the Rings fans to promote the upcoming release of the movies to Blu-ray.
DON’T STOP READING THIS YET (IF YOU LIKE WINNING STUFF).
If you want a chance to win some Lord of the Rings-related paraphernalia — Blu-ray discs, posters, other collectible items — follow the @LOTR account on Twitter tonight. The giveaways start March 19. I will either post the details myself to the @LOTR account or retweet the information from the WB Twitter accounts, so STAY TUNED for future awesomeness.
P.S. If your thought right now is, “But I don’t even like Lord of the Rings!” then get off my internet lawn before I shoot you.
